Due to problems with my vision and an upcoming surgery, I will not be taking requests until further notice. I apologise for the inconvenience.

I love to discover new books and write honest reviews on them. However, we can’t just go about this willy-nilly, so here are a few guidelines I hope you will follow.

Formats I will accept:

  • ARC
  • Galley
  • Finished copy

Please note that I only accept electronic versions, preferably in ePub, PDF or MS Word format. I do not accept audobooks at this time.

I will review:

Fiction, middle grade and up. I tend to read more YA and fantasy, however I do enjoy and review other genres; I think good writing is more important than fitting your book into a neat little category. I do review self-published books.

I won’t review:

Picture books, poetry, nonfiction, memoirs, early readers (anything below MG level),  erotica, graphic novels, religious books, short stories.

For more on what I do or don’t want to see, check out my posts tagged Query Tips.

Submission Guidelines:

Please send me a short summary of your book and include the genre, title, approximate word count, and the publisher and publication date (if applicable). Please attach your novel to the email, preferably in a PDF, ePUB or MS Word document. If you have a cover you’d like me to include in the blog post, make sure to include that too. If you have any requests (such as a time limit) please include that in the letter. If you don’t specify otherwise, the blurb included in the review will be written by me. You can check out my other reviews for examples.

I can be reached at: QuillsAndRoses[at]gmail[dot]com

About my reviews:

Each review will have the cover of the book , title, author’s name(s), an interesting quote from the book, and scheduled publication date (if applicable). I will write a short summary for the book or use a summary provided by you (your choice) and rate it based on writing quality and how much I personally enjoyed the book. For more details concerning this, please see here and have a look at my other reviews.

I will write my honest opinion and it is possible to get a bad review. By requesting a review, you acknowledge this and accept that even in the case of a bad review, it will be posted on this blog and Goodreads. I will note at the top of the review that it had been requested.

If I accept your request for a review, I will give you an estimated time frame for your post, and email you back with a link to the review once it is posted. If I miss my estimation by over two weeks and you haven’t heard from me, feel free to shoot me an email to see what’s going on.

Thank you for your interest in this blog.
